according to Pitchfork the best album of the 90s was OK Computer, and the best Album of 2000-2010 is Kid A.
I disagree, I think the best album of the 1990's was "In an Aeroplane over the Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel, my top 5 would would look this
1. Neutral Milk Hotel - In an Aeroplane over the Seas 2. Radiohead - Pablo Honey 3. Nirvana - Nevermind 4. Pavement - Slanted & Enchanted 5. Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet
the best of 2000's so far imo is
1. Arcade Fire - Funeral 2. Radiohead - Amnesiac 3. Kanye West - Late Registration 4. Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antartica 5. The Shins - Chutes to Narrow
On a side note my favorite albums from the 80's were
1.The Smiths - The Queen is Dead 2.Black Flag - Damaged 3.Joy Division - Closer 4.Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation 5.Beastie Boys - Pauls Boutique |

I dunno that I 100% agree with pitchfork either, but its worth mentioning that Radiohead comes out pretty good from their assertion- and I am okay with that! Even if its not my personal decision regarding the best two albums to span 20 years... meh, its worth something anyway.
>Pablo Honey, really? Humm.... I don't think that would have been my choice for favorite Radiohead album anyway... then again, I am rather partial to the Bends. >Going back to the 80's... i want to pan you... Beastie Boys!? A passing fad at best and thankfully- that ship has sailed! Sorry- they'd not rank in my top 10 artists to play at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds even.... LOL. >The Smiths- good choice! I am hesitant to say its the BEST of the 80s but its worthy of the title- still everytime I want to listen to the Smiths, this is the album I want to listen to and you want to listen to that other one you have... nerd. (think back to LA)
I am not compiling my own list, least of all at the moment- I am just commenting on yours. Its fair to have your opinion, even if your choice of the Beastie Boys makes me giggle... (judgmentally) | |
